Systems Interface (SIL), based in the UK, has completed a Turnkey contract to supply, install and commission a replacement Non-Directional Beacon (NDB) at Tuzla International Airport in Bosnia Herzegovina.

SIL was awarded the contract by Roaming Networks d.o.o. Banja Luka on behalf of Bosnia and Herzegovina Air Navigation Service Agency (BHANSA). SIL replaced the airports legacy equipment with a high quality and reliable Nautel Vector 250W NDB Transmitter and 375W Antenna Tuning Unit (ATU) complete with full Remote Control and Monitoring, to limit worker exposure to Radio Frequency (RF) fields.

SIL also provided overall project management, a two-day On-Site engineer training course and attended the Flight Check.

To date SIL has installed over 200 Nautel NDB’s at airports around the world. Learn more about Nautel NDB solutions for Airports.

Tuzla International Airport is Bosnia and Herzegovina second largest airport and is known as a low-cost airline hub for the people of Bosnia and neighbouring countries Croatia and Serbia. Passenger traffic to date is currently over 550,587.
